Gorgeous, Clean and Free

Just a quick post today.

I wanted to give you a heads up on some gorgeous free WordPress themes that I found the other day.

Usually, I prefer to use a premium WordPress theme for sites that I build.    I have so many WordPress themes that I often forget what I have, which is a pain 🙂     I realize that not everyone wants to buy a premium WordPress theme and has an obsession with all things WP like me 🙂     Sometimes funds are tight or you are just not sure which theme  to invest in.  When that happens people usually look for a free WordPress theme.

There are free WordPress themes in the WP repository but, to be honest, most of them don’t tickle my fancy at all other than the new default theme TwentyTen which I think is pretty good for a default theme.   There are, of course, a number of  designers that offer free themes to the WordPress community.

Problem is with these themes that:

  • they often contain several links in the footer.   It’s fine to link to the designer but you could end up with a theme linking to Home Loans, Cat Kennels and god knows what else!
  • Some of those links are encrypted as well.    Do you really know what they contain?    I know one theme that I tried had links to a cpa offer through the developers affiliate program.  Do you want your site associated inadvertently with an Acai Berry CPA offer.   Best to check it before you use it 🙂
  • a lot of the themes remind me of the 70’s.   Yes, I am that old 🙂 some days I even feel it!  The colors are glary the images are glittery and all in all they remind me of a fancy dress night rather than a professional website!

So I was super happy to find some free WordPress themes the other day that are well designed with clean, simple lines and available in a multitude of  designs for sites on:

  • blogging
  • magazine
  • affiliate
  • news
  • ecommerce; and
  • photoblogs

Not only are these free themes but they are, in fact, premium themes.    The designer of these themes has decided to run out the old models which previously sold for over $400 as a package and GIVE them away.

You do have to opt in to an email list to receive the download links for the free wordpress themes.  I think that is a worthwhile price to pay because these themes are divine.

Download the themes from RichWP.

P.S. I’m not an affiliate for these themes, this is not a paid review – I just  like them 🙂
