Handy Privacy Setting Reminder
Recently, I wrote about the change to the privacy settings on installation of WordPress. When you install WordPress now using Fantastico you need to check Settings/Privacy and make sure you are allowing the search engines to come and visit your blog.
In case you forget to do this the brilliant Yoast has added a reminder feature to check your privacy settings to his Robots Meta plugin.

Each time you write a post you will see the reminder highlighted in pink for your attention.
One other thing that Yoast has done is release the code to the general public. This is fantastic for WordPress plugin developers as it provides a quick and easy way for them to incorporate the reminder in other relevant plugins. It would be great if this was a feature in the popular SEO plugins like Platinum SEO, All In One SEO and Headspace 2.
This is a great reminder for me to wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

I am trying to set up Wordpress as a niche website….I want to remove the “blog like” look of it. I do not want their to be Leave A Reply or boxes or anything that looks like a blog. I know this can be done because I have seen other people’s niche websites and they said they used Wordpress to build it. I know HTML… but it is a long tedious process and these people with their niche websites say by using Word Press you are going to finish your website much, much faster. I am going to have a blog as well, I just want a website too. Can anyone help me with this or point me to some place that can and does any of your products cover how to do it? Thank u kindly!

Hi Bobbi, to do this you need to edit your theme files by commenting out the parts of it that you don’t want to use. You can find out more about how to comment out code at the codex http://codex.wordpress.org/Commenting_Code
You can also purchase wordpress themes that allow you to remove features easily for example WP Flex and others.
Hope that helps and good luck with your website.
