Announcement WordPress Plugin

This entry is part 8 of 30 in the series 30 Day Plugin Challenge

Today I just can’t make up my mind :)

I have not one but two announcement plugins that I want to share with you because frankly they both have some great features and benefits – so it’s hard for me to pick one winner.

The first plugin is the Quick Notice Bar.    It allows you to easily put a little stripe across the top of your website where you can direct people to your Facebook page, your twitter account or just write a message or a slim line optin form. You can even put advertisements in this section if  you want.

What I love about this plugin is that it is very integrated with social media allowing you to have a “like” button and include “tweets” .   In addition, it is super easy to customize and add your own custom css (if you are so inclined).

You can get the Quick Notice Bar announcement WordPress plugin free from the repository.

The other announcement style plugin that I like is the Heads Up plugin.    Again it has a super easy administration but it also allows you to create as many bars as you wish.   The other feature that I appreciate is that you can set when the bar displays on your site and when it expires.     This is really useful if you are promoting a product, testing a service or just want to ensure that you have change  on your site.
