The other day I was setting up a site and I needed to add a form that users can complete in order to obtain a quote for a service. Of course, I used a plugin for this because I can easily customize the form, adding checkboxes, drop down menus and the like in a short amount of time.
If you are setting up a site where you might need users to complete a form for a website quote, service quote, coaching quote or any other reason that you might need a form set up. Check out some of the WordPress plugins that you can use to build great forms on your site.
Dagon Design Form Builder – This is a great WordPress plugin that I’ve used for years on other sites. It was one of the first form builder type plugins available for users.
Formidable Form Builder – this is a free plugin and there is also a paid pro version as well. What’s cool about this plugin is that it has a drag and drop interface making it easy to customize your form.
Contact Form 7 – more than a contact form you can customize this to suit your needs.
CForms Plugin - This is a great little plugin that is very versatile.
TDO Mini Forms – this is another great little plugin that has been around for a long time. You can customize it to suit your needs.
Gravity Forms – This is a paid plugin. Personally, I think that there are free plugins that are just as good as this one.
WordPress Form Creator – The plugin states that it is in beta but according to users it works with WP 3.0 (including the multi user features)
WordPress Form Builder – This is the plugin that decided to use on my new site. One of the reasons that I chose it was that it was very easy to set up.
You can also use multiple forms on your site and anywhere you want. One of the real selling points is that it has built in anti spam functions (saves me having to think about it!).
If you are offering services or want users to submit content to your site then consider installing one of these great form builder plugins.

We decided to use online formbuilders for our agency clients. They have more features and got user friendly interfaces. I liked Gravity forms plugin and as service WuFoo or PHPForms(good price/features ratio)
Awesome post. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get the box that says, “Did you like this post?” with the social buttons
That’s part of the theme framework. You can do something similar with sexybookmarks plugin
You definitely missed the best IMHO lol!
I was an avid user of gravity forms but now I switched to a better one that I stumbled upon on the Warrior Forum. It’s called FormBerry this is an awesome wp contact form builder plugin I ever used. It doesn’t slow down my server for a bit and the features are pretty advanced.
It’s not that I missed it
It wasn’t released when I created the post
I am looking for a form plug in that will provide some of the features on Wufoo. Multi page forms, accepts pay pal and exports information to excel sheet. What do you suggest?
Gravity Forms is one of the best plugins available. You can use Wufoo with WP with one of the integration plugins like this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wufoo-shortcode/
