WordPress Weekly Round Up – 17 February 2013

There are a lot of great WordPress plugins for internet marketers to use in this weeks round up.    No matter what style of internet marketing business you have I’m sure you’ll find one of these useful.

Free WordPress Plugins

The Free WordPress plugins listed in this round up are usually obtained from the WordPress repository.

Debugger (one for the geeks) You can use this plugin to manually log data or to capture logging on WordPress actions. You can capture load time, memory, backrace, data dumps, urls, and server IPs.

Simple Announcement with Exclusion (SAWE) is a plugin to set aside a single category as an announcements section (or asides, updates etc) and display it via a shortcode or widget.  You also have the option of   excluding posts from this category from showing up on the site’s main feed.

FB Wallpost Widget Displays  – This plugin displays the latest wall posts from a Facebook page and shows the text with links to the original posts on Facebook.

GroundWork – This plugin was designed to create beautiful functional resource libraries for Professional Development delivery for the education industry.   You can create highly organized resource libraries designed to allow users to easily find the support documents, videos, or links they need.

If you are tired of managing hundreds of how-to guides that users can’t find then GroundWork is for you.

This has to be my free plugin pick of the week. If you think about running a members area, training or anything that requires loads of organisation then check it out – you can’t go wrong at the price!

Recipe Card - Create beautiful recipes that readers can print, save and review. Recipe Card optimizes your recipes for search engines and generates nutrition facts. You can mix and match over 100 color, font and layout swatches for your receipes templates. The plugin uses schema.org to make your recipes search engine visible (my second fave free plugin this week)

Admin Page Framework – (another one for geeks and developers) It provides plugin and theme developers with an easier way of creating option pages. It extends the library class and passes your arrays that define the form elements to the predefined class methods. The library handles all the complex coding behind the scene and creates the pages for you. The package includes a demo plugin which helps you walk through necessary features.

Feedback Extended With Contact Form - ( active under Jetpack 1.3 or higher) This plugin will add a new option in the “Feedback Management” area to reply to each message sent. When a visitor send an email using the Contact Form, the message is sent to email of the site’s owner as well as stored under “Feedback Management” area. This plugin lets users to reply directly from WP Admin using nice text editor.

Ultimate Preloader Ultimate Preloader - will create a preloading screen for your website before all your images (including the images in CSS) are fully loaded (without flash)

If you love those old style flash sites where the site loads up then you’ll adore this free WordPress plugin

Like Posts & Comments allows you to add links “I like/I do not like” to each post and comment

Barc Chat  – simple chat room plugin that provides a feature rich chat room for your whole community to interact in real-time directly on your site.

Book Review –  This plugin lets you add a book review system to your WordPress site. Using custom post types, administrators will be able to create and edit book reviews to be published on your site.

Sales Binder - This is an online inventory management system which combines your customer accounts, sales leads, purchase orders, estimates, and invoices into one globally accessible place.

Note: You need to sign up with sales binder which is free for 100 records and 1 user account. The prices then incrase depending on the package selected up to $99 per month

Pet Manager – had to add this as I have a huge soft spot for animals! This plugin allows you to run an animal shelter website helping you keep the management as simple as possible. Each animal is a post and age, size, colors etc can be selected. There is also integration of search widgets, contact form and maps

Premium Plugins

In the premium plugin world for internet marketers not a lot has come out this week that is “new”.    As most readers know, I don’t like to put in re-hashed plugins unless they have added features or are easier to use, more secure etc.   This week not a  lot of plugins made it to the page.

Video Blast WordPress Plugin – Allows the blog administrator to search by keyword and add you tube videos from inside your WordPress admin area.

Note: There are SEO style plugins that have this feature included as well. Check what you already have on your hard drive.

Profit Detonator – This is a conversion/split testing plugin.  The plugin  helps you compare your sales pages etc to track which ones convert the best.  You can split test a number of features and it has a cool rotating text feature. It also allows you to search Amazon and Clickbank for products to promote

WordPress Themes

Pitch Perfect Sales Letters Theme  -  *sigh* Another sales page theme.   However, this one has a drag and drop feature that  makes it easy to build a sales page. It currently integrates with two autoresponder services – mail chimp and campaign monitor (seems odd they didn’t include the popular ones like Get Response and Aweber). The developers do however state that they  are looking to add more autoresponder services in the future. The theme has free support for 2 months and then it is $5 per month.
